One of the greatest accomplishments as a clinical professional is obtaining your degree. The diploma that you receive solidifies you in your discipline and gives you the authority that you need to go out into the field and begin practice. Once you are in the field you will gain applicable experience necessary to promote you to the next level towards licensure. The licensing process in California is governed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (www.bbs.ca.gov), which requires aspiring clinicians to register and obtain licensure in order to practice. The practice parameters including laws and ethics are implemented to not only guide clinicians but also to protect the people that we serve. In order to navigate this process and to be successful in completion of clinical hours necessary you will need supervision provided by a trained supervisor who can offer guidance and case consultation. If you’ve obtained your degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or Master’s of Social Work (MSW) then we are available to discuss your career path and interests towards obtaining licensure and the possibility of clinical supervision.
